Team-drive demo

Team records. One place to bring them back.

Each person records on a named Windows drive. At base, import the drives one at a time.

1. Record on a named drive

Each notebook keeps its attribution. This demo uses sample data for Ana, Ben and Cara.

Cursiv's Field Notebook on Ana Ruiz's drive: nine Willow Creek entries with pH, dissolved oxygen and water temperature, two with photos, the status line '9 entries recorded, all intact and in order' and the button 'Notebook: Ana Ruiz'.

2. Bring records back

Import notebook history and photos, checking chain and signature evidence. The main computer’s own notebook is kept.

Cursiv's chat on the main computer answering 'team log': 25 entries from 4 notebooks (Ben Okafor, Ana Ruiz, Field station, Cara Lindqvist), each line starting with the scientist's name. The badge reads LOCAL ONLY, internet blocked.

3. Choose what goes back out

Prepare a new drive with only the notebooks you select.

Cursiv's 'Put Cursiv on a USB drive' window: drive E: DEE-FIELD, Field copy ticked, 'Whose drive is this?' filled with Dee Park, and the notebook list with Ana Ruiz (9 entries) and Cara Lindqvist (8 entries) ticked, Field station and Ben Okafor unticked.

Import report: 9 new entries, chain intact. Ana Ruiz: 9 new entries. Ana Ruiz: signature checked.
Import report: 7 new entries, chain intact. Ben Okafor: 7 new entries. Ben Okafor: signature checked.
Import report: 8 new entries, chain intact. Cara Lindqvist: 8 new entries. Cara Lindqvist: signature checked.
The Field Notebook on Dee Park's new drive: no entries of her own yet, and the button 'Notebook: Dee Park'.
Cursiv on Dee Park's drive answering 'team log': entries from Ana Ruiz and Cara Lindqvist only.
Cursiv answering 'oxygen saturation at 18.6 °C' with 9.35 mg/L from the Benson and Krause equation, marked 'Worked out by Cursiv, no AI model'.
Cursiv answering 'field log check': the notebook checked, intact and in order, SHA-256 chain verified, with what that does and doesn't show.
The local model answers 'Is my meter broken?' with 'No, your meter is not broken.' Under it, Cursiv's check notes the answer sounds more certain than one observation supports and says to repeat the measurement and check calibration.

These are recorded examples, not a study of field teams. Portable data remains readable; protect sensitive drives and keep backups. Reject damaged or conflicting imports rather than treating them as verified.
